Welcome to the website of the Lemaire law office. Our law office mainly practises tax litigation and tax advice.
Our expertise
We advise, assist and represent our clients (individuals and corporations) in all the tax aspects of their existence. We analyse the tax consequences of a contemplated transaction, we assist our clients, when relevant in a concerted manner with their accountant, in tax procedures, from the drafting of answers to requests for information to the judicial procedure.
When appropriate, we negotiate with the tax authorities in order to find a formal or informal non judicial tax dispute resolution.
We also negotiate tax rulings for our clients when a contemplated transaction involves complex and/or controversial tax issues.
Your tax attorney
Sylvain Lemaire, founder of the law office was trained in the Brussels office of English law firm Bird & Bird LLP. After his traineeship, he was in charge of the tax litigation, from the early stages of the administrative phase to the judicial procedure.
He advised numerous companies (SME and big companies, Belgian and international), as well as private individuals and non-profit organizations. His expertise covers, amongst other, the taxation of intellectual property, tax procedure, corporate income tax, personal income tax (residents and non-residents), special tax status of expatriates/foreign executives and VAT.
In October 2024, Sylvain Lemaire decided to pursue a new career and handed over the Lemaire Law Office to his main associate Charlotte WATTEYNE, tax attorney, who is now the owner and managing partner of the Lemaire Law Office.
Our fees
In order to become familiar with your situation, we usually invite our clients to take an appointment for a first meeting (see contact form below).
Our services are then charged on the basis of a lump sum fee per provision of service well defined on beforehand and, in some cases, on an additional success fee.
In addition to the above fees, we charge an extra 12% (lump sum) administrative costs (plus VAT) and we recharge (at cost) the disbursements and judicial costs.
